Cheerful days

Those were the days were we spent most of our time in the play station zone. We were six in number and our team was very sturdy in smack down game. The team would be split in to two groups of three members and its combination varies habitually. Those two hours would be very interesting as we would play the game wildly and sometimes we ended up in quarrel also. Our opponent team has a member with distinct character and he is the player with whom you can improve your game play in haste. Everyone in our team would be astonished on seeing his nature because he is the only person who never accepts his defeat even when he gets smacked around the ring regularly. He would select a player and if you observe the player after the match his face will be definitely crammed with blood. We would have depleted more than 2000 rupees in this gaming zone. Every one criticized us that we are wasting the money and after a certain period we too felt the same and the duration of playing gradually slowed down and finally we stopped playing the game. We thought that the money spent by us could never be returned. It was paradoxical to our opinion and we received more money than we spent. Thanks to the symposiums conducted in various colleges and they helped us to retrieve our invested money on the game. We emerged as the strongest team in the zone and we are the champions for the third consecutive time.

Exhilarating match

We have played many cricket matches from our childhood. Our team is famous for winning test matches and we evolved as a formidable test side in our surrounding. In one day matches we couldn’t make towering impression due to the lack of powerful hitters down the order. That day I could never forget in my life. It was my first tournament match in fact for four of my friends. We were asked to play for a team in that tournament due to lack of players in that team. That team members were no stranger to us. In fact we have played many times with them. My friend Boopathi and Ramesh opened the innings and they gave a solid start to our team.

Still I remember that drive which was played by my friend and it reached the well that prevailed near the boundary. Now I could realize that it was my turn since my team needed swift runs and I was the leading hitter in that time. When I stepped in to the crease I felt little bit nervous but it disappeared after few balls since I was not playing for my team. I was in my dream form and blasted the ball all round the park. I scored my maiden fifty and my team reached a huge score of 132. It was a 12 over match and we knew that it was quite massive to chase. We were little bit lethargic in the field and they got to an explosive start. Manoj who was a great bowler that time bowled brilliantly but I could saw his good length balls vanishing for six through the square leg and midwicket. The match reached the final over and the opponent required 12 runs to win the first match in the tournament. The danger man who was smashing the bowlers got held to a great catch and at that time we could smell the victory which was nearly on the offer. Finally we won the game and our debut became one of the greatest matches we have ever played.

Slapstick comedy

I wanted to share some of the great jokes experienced by me. These may not even appear as comedy to others but when it is timely uttered they can become hilarious ones. I was traveling in my college bus and the duration to reach our destination may be around 45 minutes. I was sitting behind my friend who changes your mood within seconds with his laughing riot. We were discussing about Indian cricket deeply. I said with much concern that our Indian team could never get a replacement for the three great players namely Sachin, Dravid and Dada. My friend suddenly said that all the three could play for another 6 years since this incident happened when I was studying my first year. I too accepted the fact and next sentence I heard from him was “yes we don’t need to worry they could serve the country for another 18 years”. What was the great comedy in that sentence was he added their years and he failed to realize the fact that when one plays for 6 years the other two also would be playing for the same duration. All the members in the bus started laughing and we had a wonderful time that morning.

Day of slaps

That day I could never forget in my life. I was studying 10th and that hour belongs to social studies. Lets see the recap of what happened in the preceding weeks. All our term exams ended and we were eagerly waiting for our marks since we are going to get from a new teacher. The exhilaration prevailed due to the fact that we don’t know how she is going to evaluate the paper. Most of my friends got below 60 including the girls and only one boy got above 75. The tension started to creep on me much higher than before because I didn’t receive my paper and I could see the last paper on the table. It was definitely the paper wrote by me and I moved towards the table at a snail’s pace. That was a gift indeed and I could hear a voice screaming, “hey you got the first mark”. Few classes passed and one day I was listening to the class with my hands on the cheeks. My teacher doesn’t like anyone doing that. Still I kept the same posture since I got the first mark and I had a thought that she would not scold me. I got slapped consecutively for doing that. That showed her nature of being impartial to anyone and this is the true nature of the teacher, which should prevail in every one and this was the character that attracted me. From that time my cheeks never rested on my hands.
